As per previous answers and I'm sure I was one of the populus answered your original question..
Your car is a roadster.... End of.
You are more than likely fine, but you really should have declared any modification to the car. I'm sure I and others stressed this at the time. It sounds like you didn't.
However - reality check here.
It's just a car.
No-one got really seriously hurt.
You still have a ticket for the big game called life.
It could have ended somewhat differently.
Hope you are back on the road soonest
Best

So glad you walked away
I wouldn't worry about the insurance - yes they can be b*stards but I think they'd be hard pushed to argue about the fact you had a hard top on. As long as you aren't trying to claim for it. It's not like that could have been any cause of the accident.

Cheers for the support guys, as long as I get paid I can live with it. If I end up with a bill for mine and the lorry I hit and then I'll wished I had got what I should have been given the state of the car and the fact that everyone said I shouldn't be breathing right now!

Can I just point out that not all insurance companies are poised to screw you over the slightest clerical error.
My wife's stepmom rolled her car and wrote it off about 18 months ago. She had no MOT as it had lapsed whilst she was in Spain the week before. She still received a decent figure for the car.
I'd imagine you'll be fine. You haven't misled them or done anything illegal. If this did go to tribunal I agree with the above in that no ombudsman would allow them to simply take your money for nothing.
