Worth a trip across the Millau bridge and if you have the time, underneath it too to get a sense of scale. It's fabulous.

Its a great trip Ross. Done it twice.
Once on the way back from Euromeet and then a few months later there and back.
The biggest decision is which route to take....

and don't underestimate how long it takes...especially if you want to do some sight seeing on the way. I'd recommend 3-4 days minumum each way.

recommended:
Reims - champagne tasting is a must
Milau Bridge - hopefully not in the rain
Massif Central
Driving along the coast to Monaco

We very comfortably did Calais to Clermond Ferrand in a day using the toll roads. We could probably have got as far as Milau if we had pushed a bit harder and it wouldn't have been uncomfortable. We reached the south coast by mid day on the second day. We weren't really bothered about sight seeing but also didn't want to arrive knackered so I guess the route depends on what you want from it.

Yeh definitely, well I am interested but unfortunately it has to fit in with when I am actually in the country, not swanning about on my ship, so I can never commit to things to far in advance unless I am confident I will be here.

Up to the end of June should be fairly safe. I imagine most people would want to go later in the season though.

Dad and I have been talking about doing a E-Type/S2k run down to Monaco, I'll let you know how our plans come along!

I went to Silverstone last year, and the year before, very very jealous! I have only ever been to Monaco GP once way back in 2003 and it was incredible, back when corporate hospitality was good! Alas, those times are no more! But yeh, best Grand Prix on the calendar I think, its just how close you get to the cars and the whole atmosphere is electric.

You will have a great time.

Graham
