You must need to go sideways on every bend and wheel spin everytime you get in the car?

I tend to be very light on my fronts as I don't tend to be heavy on braking and I don't corner at particularly highspeed....

most of my rear tyre wear is down to roundabouts and track days

Ok, it must be me.

Bridgestone Potenza S-02 - wear rating = 140 - Traction = A Temp = A
Toyo Proxes T1 (closest I could find) - wear rating = 200 - Traction = AA - Temp = A
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 - wear rating = 280 - Traction = A - Temp = AA

Higher number = better wear rating
TREADWEAR. A control tire is assigned a grade of 100. A tire with a grade of 200 can be expected to last twice as long as the control tire, while a tire with a grade of 80 is normally less durable. Currently, the highest reported treadwear rating is 700; 98 percent of tires rank 600 or below; 92 percent rank 500 or below; 72 percent rank 400 or below; 40 percent rank 300 or below; and 15 percent rank 200 or below.

I always thought roundabouts were only put there for those of us who haven't got the time for track days.

My first set of Toyo rears wore down exceptionally quickly - I put this down to a Heyford day & peer pressure (you know who you are ). My 16" F1s lasted far longer - probably twice as long. The Toyo fronts are still okayish.

Certainly, my driving patterns on this past set haven't been anything unusual - no track days - no memorable bouts of wheel-spinning - over autumn / winter etc.

I fitted my 16"s last night, as these have a good deal of rubber left. Now, here's the rub ( ) - I could straight away feel this morning that they are heavier, and feel more likely to break away. I really did not expect to feel a difference to acceleration, but it's definitely there

Unfortunately, as I'm in the process of buying a house, I may have to put off getting new rubber for a few weeks - tyres will be 500-550ish, honda alignment 100-150ish. Oh well, best try & work some overtime

Chris,

Would you please elaborate on that acceleration bit?
