It's not shiny metal underneath - it's dull grey unpolished aluminium. If you want it shiny you'd have to spend a lot of time sanding and polishing. There's a small amount of hand finishing on both the valve cover and the plug cover from the factory, but they do need a lot more work to tidy up. Don't take the paint off it you're expecting to just have to do a qucik polish and then you'll have a shiny valve cover - there's a lot more work involved.

Nah' thats what all my carbon is for, or at least thats what I keep telling myself plus it took me hours of gentle massaging to get the AC lines to accomodate the intercooler. so for now its staying as I ain't driven the car in 8 months give or take the odd photo shoot but thats it, so I'm hoping and praying for a VERY late summer
