Default Review : Nur

Well I took the car out to Nur for the weekend (my 30th B'day too).

This is after having the SC tuned by Mase and the chassis tweaked by Chris.

The car was awesome .. so damn quick and predictable. When I was driving hard (I gave a few slow passeenger laps to friends) only 2 cars went past me (997 GT3 and a 997 GT3 RS) both I was catching on the straights, but they were taking a whole heap of curb into the bends and I wasn't willing to go quite that far.

Totally awesome time, but I've found the two limitations of my car.

First - Oil temps were getting over 115 deg, so I'll be ordering an Oil cooler asap.
Second - The driver. After last years twitch-a-thon the car is now so stable but my lack of skils are the major limiting factor in the cars speed.

I was told I managed a 10 min dead lap by a mate in the carpark - but that was a lap my passenger and I saw 116 deg on the oil about a 3rd the way round, and coasted the last 2 3rds.

Happy Birthday matey

Sounds like you had fun. Glad to hear the cars handling well after Chris did all that work to it not long ago.

Got any photos/onboard videos to share?

Is that 10 mins back to the car park? That's got to be 9 minutes BTG, and if you coasted 2/3rds of the lap then a flat out lap would have been about 5 minutes I reckon.

Don't believe you.

I'm getting serious withdrawl now. Still about 7 weeks to go.

The car is silly quick on the track now.

On one "slow" lap (roof down, look at the scenery) I still overtook 2 caged M3's and one track hire 3 series (with full cage, suspension and semi slicks).

Met a Septic member of this forum out there "ABV" .. he seemed to be loving the hire car on the track too

He timed me from going through the barrier to getting back onto the straight.

And taking it easy was 7~8k changes (with the charger and VTEC coming in at 4.5k it wasn't too hard).

I recon an 8 dead is do-able in that car, if I had a cooler, and the bottle.
