Reverse difficult to select when warm
Hi guys,
As title really, although seems to happen when car is warmed it can take some force to select reverse gear. Takes me a good 2 or 3 tries before it will engage.
It's just started doing this over the last few days. when cold (ie first reverse pulling out of my parking spot is fine)
I regreased the shifter with silicone grease a couple of months back.
What would be the next thing to try? Gearbox oil? Clutch fluid?
All other gears seem totally fine as normal.
Many thanks for any suggestions.

Try to change the gearbox oil first. It can be a tiny piece of gearbox debriss metal stuck in this gear and creates this problem. I believe it will dissapear with the oil change or with the time. Try also to put couple of times the reverse gear while your car is in the garage

Into reverse?
From first?
BANG!
It wont work, you have to be stationery to select reverse of course.
So there will be no other shaft movement to rev match to if the output shaft is static.
Increasing RPM of the iput shaft by revving it in netural whilst static will make it harder to engage.

See if double-declutching makes a difference first.

Works pretty well going the other way when cold and First is being its usual recalcitrant self.

Sometimes if you can't get it into reverse, if you bring the clutch up and rev it to move the input shaft slightly and try again it works nicely.
Other than that, then yeh, change your gearbox oil and check the clutch fluid resevoir is full.

Actually there was a time about a week ago where it didnt go into 6th first time, but I just declutched again and put it in 6th and all was fine. Think this may have effected it?
I've ordered diff/clutch/tranny fluids, might as well do them all as they are due soon anyway and go from there.
