Default Rev Limiter

I tried the search, but it's still broke

Silly question, but does the S have a rev limiter when the engine is cold? I ask because I rev'ed the engine a bit more than normal when it was cold, and I suddenly got this jolt and the power died away. I didn't see what the rev's got to, but I'm positive it wasn't near red line.

I felt really stupid when the car jolted, as I try my hardest not to make silly mistakes

I think there's a limit when the engine is cold to prevent you from hitting VTEC.

Never found it myself

Cheers folks. The last thing I want to do is start boucning it off the red line when the engines cold.

I've not had the car that long, so I'll have to just be less racy in the mornings

You'll get to 7k rpm but it'll not swap cams at 6 like it usually does..

It cuts in if you don't have 3 bars of oil temp lit. Do it in first and the thing nearly chucks you out of the window!!!!

Cheers Ian, I'd not thought of that. It could so easily have ended in total disaster
I need to take it a bit easier first thing in the morning.

That's it. I almost head-butted the screen when it happened
