Do not get it wrapped, not for the amount of time you will be having the car for.
It costs just as much as a respray, requires a lot of skill and workmanship to cut and apply the skin and will look rubbish in three years time with stone chips and tears.
It's just a non permanent application. IMO S2000 in White is stunning, I'm sure the re-sale amount will not even come into it.
Even if it did, and it wouldn't, say be £1000 different to a non White one at the time of re-sale, just think of it as cost of ownership, £1000 for the colour you've been waiting for spread over 8 years of having the awesome colour you want (plus obv. the cost of the paint...(factor it in) job done.
In short, yeah, why not.

One good way to do it, is take full pics of the car before it gets sprayed, and during.
What puts people off generally is they suspect the car has been damaged and sprayed as an opportune time to do it.
It will always devalue, but document it properly and it will sell easier when the time comes...

Certainly wasn't as much as you've been quoted.
