Resetting the ABS light.
I recently had an 'incident' ... and have had to have a front hub replaced. The ABS light came on before the hub was replaced and remains on.
I've had a closer look at the ABS sensor and it doesn't look physically damaged. I know it doesn't necessarily have to look damaged to be faulty but before I spend money on buying and subsequently paying for fitting a new one, I'd like to check (if I can) the old one to see if it indeed is faulty or just needs resetting.
I've heard removing the battery for a period of time should sort it out if it isn't faulty, if this true? Are there any other ways to check?

If the ECU isn't picking up a signal or has had in interupted signal it'll signal a fault to the ECU. Disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes will allow the ECU to forget it's settings and hence the error signal.
If it comes back on again it means you've still an problem

I left the battery off over night and the upon reconnection the light is still there. That would indicate an ABS sensor at fault, right?!

Check the clearance with the rotor is correct & that the circuit is not broken before swapping the part.

The sensor uses magnetism to sense the speed from a toothed rotor on the back of the hub. If the mounting has been bent, it won't get the correct signal.
If the wires have been broken during your off, it'll get no signal at all back to the ECU.
You may wanna get a mechanic to look at this.

Might be worth emailing Gofastlabs or Hardtopguy in the states to see if they can get one cheaper! (Should of thought of this myself earlier)
