Default replacing rear light lenses

I have just purchased some ap2 rear lights for my s2k , and the clear lenses are slightly cracked and scratched ..

Is it possible to replace the lenses as I have my ap1 lights left over ..

Or can the cracks be fixed ( which I think is unlikely )

Thanks

I'm not sure if pre and facelift lenses are the same? But in theory, yes they can. It'd be a case of warming the sealant up in the oven, or similar, to soften and then pry apart. Then replace with other lense and re-seal.

Can you not wet and dry out the scratches then polish it out? I was going to try and take my lights apart but apparently they crack really easily and are a pain to put back together.

You know you need to cut the bodywork to fit the later style lights...

Yep you certainly do - like this:

There are other less tidy ways of doing it.

Yes I do know you have to cut the body work , but I'm happy to go ahead with it ... And it's more cracks than scratches
