Does changing the final drive make much difference?

I find that at motorway speeds, the revs are already pretty high. (3900 @ 70 if memory serves) With a lower ratio final drive, surely this would be even higher?

Yes! it does make a difference but not something I would do on a car that did a lot of motorway miles.

I would certainly recommend it

I do quite a lot of motorway miles too.

Although if i go FI I will probably go back to the stock diff I think.

That was what I thought and it was the reason I bought my old diff back off Chris.

After driving the car for a bit I decided that I am sticking with the 4.625 final drive

Depending on my bonus the sale of the Diff might be helping fund the project

It would be a shame to part with the very rare 4.625 drive though !!!!

Call back from Honda today to say the warranty people have to send out an inspector so they have to strip down the diff for him to see - this would take at least 3 hours at a min cost of
