Replacement Brakes
I have a rear caliper that is intermittently seizing. It happened to one of my fronts last year which I had replaced.
Its not a big problem, but is now I believe a fairly common fault.
I also hate the calipers on the S, they look cheap despite their ability and so I am thinking about replacing them with something decent (Big red Brembos would be nice )
Anybody know the best source for replacements and a rough idea of cost ?
Thanks in advance

I think you'll have trouble replacing the rears, replacing the fronts is much more common (just check out the Wilwoods and Endless options on the US GB forum) but I think Andy doherty may have got some custom AP rear calipers, but may have have a problem because they didn't accomodate a handbrake cable??

Yes he did Craig, he said the car stopped really well but wasn't road legal without the handbrake. I read that wilwood (I think) were looking into rear calipers (may have been another company) my brains a bit foggy today

Several brake manufacturers (Wilwood definitely, and either AP/Brembo also) do a small "spot calliper" for this situation. It'll never be a simple bolt on option cos you'll have to make up a bracket to support it.
Failing that there's a really simple option used on kitcars which requires no extra bracketry or calliper... click here and scroll down a bit...
I'll leave you to decide how bodgey this route is, I think it'd be ok for parking but not a lot of good for handbrake turns!

Thanks lads.
Just kicked the pedal at lunchtime and the bugger has now released itself. It will return though....so I'll get the boys at SC onto it.
Its amazing how you get to know the feel of a car so well that any knock, noise or difference in feel is immediately noticeable.
My wife think its weird
