Default REO50 A's OR MZ's

Hi all

im pretty sure i have had the RE050 A tyres fitted in error to my S, can you tell me if there's much differance between the s specific MZ's to the A type tyre. They seem fine to me as i have had all 4 fitted ????

Thanks in Advance

Charlie Browns did that to me with the front tyres and I got them to change them for the right tyres. I noticed the difference to the way the car drove almost immediately and found the mistake when I checked at home.

i can't comment on their outright performance on the car but the tyre walls are definately softer and I felt this through the steering as I lost some of the direct feel and the front felt softer.

I would suggest that if you are a hard driver then the mz's are the better ones because they give a better steering response.

I didn't check to see if there was a cost difference between the two as I had them changed to mz's but if they're cheaper you've been done!

The hadling feel may have been atributed to having differance tyres on front and back, however i have them on all 4 corners. I had S02's on previously and to be honest i can not tell much differance.

If you were previously on S02's on OEM 16in rims, then Bridgestone say (quoted verbatim):
[QUOTE]
The S02 was the OE tyre for the original 16 inch fitment.

Sorry, I didn't realise that you were putting them on to replace S02's since I've never driven an earlier S then I don't know how that will affect you and MZ's are only 17" fitment so if you want them you'll have to change your wheels.

I'm sure they are decent treads and will give good service, I would be interested to know how good they are as a long term proposition (just curious really).

All I can say is that if you want to stick with Bridgestone's then with the S02s discontinued (although some people have still managed to source them), then Bridgestone recommend (i asked them in passing) the RE050 A's as the replacement for the S.
