If your standing the HT against a wall or in it's stand, the glass goes at the top

Does it really make a difference?
The HT stand is designed to have the HT put on it with the glass up. So you might as well store it the same way round. I'm just going by what Honda and other people on here say. I suspect it makes no difference whatsoever.

I believe that it puts less stress on the glass if it's stored glass up

I was always told to tilt the seats forwards as well - is that just for ease of access to the levers?

I used to take my roof off on my own. The best method was to cover everthing from the roll bars to the rear boot light with thick foam or duvets, making sure they draped over the edges of the car (to ensure the spikes don't scratch the paint). From there you can sort of "walk" it off, one side at a time. It helps if your 6' though.

edit: If you've not checked your soft top, I'd look for wearing on the "usual" spots. It may be worth taping these up now, before you start to use it frequently in the summer.

I've taken mine off on my own, but only once. It wasn't pretty.

I lossed everything and just had to lift it up. I got in the car and lifted the whole thing using my back, and hands to steady it. I walked crab like out of the car being careful not to hit it with the HT. To passers by I must have looked like a total loon

I wouldn't recommend this method

There must come a time where, without any assistance available, one has to weigh up the practicalities of not taking the roof off against the need to get out and enjoy the car as it was meant to be. Lessons learned? Don't ever bother with a hard top.
