Default removing the hardtop - How?

I know this may seem a bit stupid to most folks on here but Ive just bought my S2000 and want to remove the hardtop without damaging anything. There seems to be no instructions in the manual so I wondered if somebody could explain or give me a link to any instructions?

Ive done the leavers and the front and back but don't want to overdo it and yank it off?

Anyone help? Thanks

That's pretty much it - just unplug the connector for the heated rear screen as well and you can lift straight off - better if there are two of you to avoid catching the spikes on the bodywork.

thats great I was looking for that connector but couldnt see it - I guess I'll have another look now. It seems very secure still even though I have undone the levers thatspartly why I didnt want to force anything. cheers

Put the windows down, (Petron )
Undo the two front catches,
Undo the two rear levers,
Unplug the heated rear screen cable (behind the passenger seat),
Get someone to help you lift it off as it's awkward to carry on your own.
Just mind the metal pins on the body work.

If your standing the HT against a wall or in it's stand, the glass goes at the top

Don't forget to open the windows first so you can get a good grip.

I assume you have the stand to put the hardtop on after you take it off.

thanks, mainly wanted to remove it just so I could check the soft top was working ok and in decent condition-when I viewed the car a week or so ago at the dealer it was lashing it down so I didnt bother asking him to remove the hardtop and he assured me the soft top was ok. Turns out one of the latches needed lubricating but its fine now and the hoods ok.

Thanks for the help.....and insults!!!!!!

Insults I can assure you that none were directed at you

There is a section in the FAQ covering this:

See 'hardtop fitting instructions'

If your standing the HT against a wall or in it's stand, the glass goes at the top

Does it really make a difference?
