Removing The Folding Wind Deflector
I am wanting to temporarily remove the folding wind deflector (brochure speak) or aero-screen between the seats.
I would like some info on how it is removed.
Are there screws below the covers that are just behind the screen?
I have had a quick go at removing the covers, (if thats what they are), but couldn't get them off without damaging the plastic cover.
Anyone done it without damaging the covers before?
Tim.

Yes!. You need to remove those small black plastic covers and there are screws underneath that hold the mechanism in place. They are quite hard to get off without damaging them. IIRC I used a flat bladed screwdriver with some masking tape over the tip to try and minimise any scratching. Net, you need to prise them off but go careful.

Centre mounted bmw heat seaking missile launcher ?
I'm seriously thinking of doing the Easter 'ring trip, and was gonna get a camera mount made at work to try it out. I've heard the rear view mirror gets in the way, so wanted to have a few test runs.

Did this last night. You don't have to take those plastic covers off at all (or i didn't anyway) 8mm socket on the nuts (oo-er) on the inside of the secret compartment and off it comes.
