I removed the honda badge from the side of my car with hot water and a bit of elbow grease.

Cleaned my whole car and have noticed that where the badge was is a ring where there is not lacker.

Whats the best thing to do???
I don't know if this has been sorted with elbow grease and some kind of solvent yet? If not, did you have the car from new?

It's highly possible that an adjacent panel has been re-painted and the colour has been blown into the surrounding panels, then all of them were lacquered.

A "certain" bodyshop forgot to scotch/key the door on my old MR2, before covering the whole panel in fresh lacquer - a couple of years later when I had the bonnet resprayed, masking tape pulled the top layer of lacquer clean off!

Carter your are spot on, i took the car to priory honda, the guy there had a good look and yes there was some lacker added.

i picked holes in the car before i picked it up, and asked for a couple of nigley bit to be sorted out. The job its self (according to Priory) is very good, and for the sake of a couple of minutes to move the badges there wouldnt have been a problem.

but they didnt, so as soon as i removed you could see a line of lacker. sorted out now but badges are back on.

Dont let this put you off taking your badges off.

i used warm water and dental floss to remove the badge and then a little tar remover to get the glue off. Rewax and polish..

Who was the poor bugger who got his car back from the repairers, they'd stuck 'em on as a 2000S.

I remember he wasn't impressed!
I just bought a 2003, and I looked over the car very carefully prior to purchase, but didn't notice someone had put it back the same way - 2000S
