Whats the best thing to do???

Put the badges back!

Sure it don't just need a clean and polish? I know mine did.

I don't think you will be missing laquer, it's more likely that the area where the badges are just hasn't been cleaned and waxed the same as the rest of the car.

Try a claybar on it.

It's probably a greasy residue from the adhesive.
Try an alcohol on it, if you must nail varnish remover then warm fairy liquid mix, then Polish Polish Polish Polish Polish Polish Polish Polish .

Are you sure you didn't pull it off with the badge?

Otherwise, clean it with cellulose thinners or meths or isopropanol or something.

Use Isopropanol or WD40 to clean it - i bet it is sticky stuff left behind. Is it above or below the surrounding surfaces?

HI

What was the outcome of all of this? I assume the marks left on this chaps car were simply some sort of residue.

I only ask as debadging the front wings was the next job on my list! I always like to do this when the car is as new as possible.

Will someone confirm that the

some people like the de badged look, cleaner lines with holes in

the front honda badge is stuck on but also has two metal clips holding it on as well, i only found out last week when taking mine off to put the new skelton style ones on, to get to the metal ring clips open bonnet and put your hand under front bumper you will feel the two clips try and remove them with a flat screw driver and then carefully ease the badge away, i found it easier to use a hair dryer as it heated up the sticker tape a treat.

rear one has no clips it seems and will pull off, long as you are careful, use the hair dryer again to heat up the sticky tape that holds it in place.

i used tar remover to get the film off and cannot see any left i will take a picture and post later today.
