Default Removal of Badges

I have some Red badges for the S2000, I am looking at removing the original ones, done this before on a DelSol with relative ease, is there anything I should know ?

I suspect they don't just fall off !

Bork,

You can cut through the glue by targeting a hairdryer onto the badges for a few minutes then using waxed dental floss to saw through it. However, for the front/rear badges there are also some clips/pins you need to deal with which can be slightly trickier. These clips/pins also vary by MY so my advice would be to go to Ricks website and take a look at his installation instructions for his front/rear "S" badges. They give you great instructions inc. piccies. I recently did this mod and got the badges off fine!.

Once you've done it, write some instructions for the tech faq please!

I found Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover really good for getting off the glue residue.

Doesn't seem to have done any harm but will now await responses telling me why I shouldn't have used it!

Jules2000

I am planning on doing this on Saturday....did removing the badges leave any kind of shadow on the paint?

Nope, none at all - I have only removed the honda badges from the sides though. I did have trouble getting all the glue off (maybe cos the car is 3 years old?) so I called my local rice-boy supplier and they suggested the bug and tar remover which worked a treat. You really can't tell the badges were ever there. Btw - my car's black.

so you left the S2000 badges on, any particular reason or just you like the look of it that way?

Mine is an '01 car...I assume the side badges on my MY have no pins as well?

I found WD-40 to be perfect for removing traces of the adhesive used to stick badges on.

All side badges are simply stuck on with glue ie. no pins etc. They are really easy to get off with the hairdryer/floss technique. Glue is a pain to remove but can be done with WD40, patience and elbow grease!. The bug/tar removes sounds like a good alternative. I removed my Honda side badges and no shadow left (my car is about 18 months old and always outside). I kept the S2000 badges though because I like to promote that part (my aeroscreen, headrests etc. also have S2000 on them).

Front badges are a little trickier because of the pins etc. On my model (MY01) you need to snap off some little rivets on the back of the badge. On other MY's you do something different. Ricks directions were very comprehensive and helped a lot!.
