I am more interested in a smaller number plate, not a stick on one like the old E-Types. Could never put a sticker on my baby!
The place in Manchester that did my new plates asked if I wanted smaller plates for the front, got me thinking - I new experience I know, lol.

Sorry for not replying quicker Ian. If you put a small plate on it does expose a hole either side. I put a plastic push in button which i colour coded, they looked fine. My car is going in for paint on Monday, the front bumper is being repaired so i will have the holes filled for a smoother look. I will try and post pics when i get the car back. Have a good weekend. Cheers.

i think there are fill-in buttons from the factory that the dealer has to remove to fit the number plate holder, something in the pre-delivery advice pages i read a year ago. i'm not worried about stickers, we regularly remove them at work using a heat gun, it does no damage. although on a poly bumper i suppose even more care is needed.
FWIW,

With regard to front number plate backing plate removal everybody is correct in saying that you need to remove the bumper completly to get to two of the bolts , OR DO YOU??
Be bold , undo the 2 visible M6 bolts then grab hold of backing plate and wrench off , some sweat may be seen on forehead !!
Now undo the bolts with fingers , apply liberal amount off silicone mastic to the captive nuts still inside bumber section to prevent rattle,s and reuse later .
You now need a standard size stick on plate ( Some unsure ? as to whether they are still legal ) . Try your local trailer supplies company or car spares shop not Halfords . I obtained a blank panel inc black trim with stick on numbers . The major problem with whole exersize is getting the plate to go on flat without wrinkles .
P.S. you need a full size plate to cover the holes or some other idea maybe !!

Be bold a faint heart never won anything
Honestly It works , the captive bolt head is only held in a single ended slot of fairly soft pliable thin plastic . Once the first one comes of its easy , trust me I am a ? and used to performing this type of operation on a regular basis
Go On Go On Go On , try it for yourself and enjoy
