Yeah, the boot release on the three button one should work all the time.
I suspect Kate that as you've got no CAT1 alarm installed your car was originally imported. ???
I could use the three button one with no problem but I'd have to unlock the car (turn alarm off) with the two button one then press the boot release on the three button one. & That would work every time.

I've got the 2 button fob. I did have two of them until I dropped one down the a drain, but that's a different matter (owning my S2k is proving to be a slightly cursed, as this followed a puncture and losing the back end going up a motorway slip road).
Anyhow, if I press and hold the unlock button the boot release opens fine.

Tried it, after holding for about 5secs it just flashes and makes the unlock sound again
Maybe I'll ask my friend that works for Honda to drop me round one of the 3 buttoners!

I have this alarm fob ...
It works sometimes (unlock .... wait a second or two, then unlock again), but frankly I can't be bothered. It's quicker to use the key in the boot.
