Default Remote Boot Release

Do all UK cars fitted with the Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser have the function to remotely open the boot?
Mine doesn't seem to work.

I have tried opening the car, then in the next 3 secs pressing the open button again. Is that right?

It is a bit annoying having to put the key in the keyhole

Try pressing it and holding it down on the second press, just after the indicator lights go out

I can't get this to work either. When I press the 'unarm' button the second time (or hold it down as AE suggets), I get a two flashes of the indicators - is the cars way of laughing at me for trying to open the boot without the key?
