Default Refurb'ed cam cover

I've seen a refurb'ed cam cover for £160, is it worth it?

Mine is flaking but is this an easy swap or an hour or so by a pro?

20 min job but you'll want a new rocker cover gasket set.

Also worth it is putting a more descriptive heading

I wouldnt pay £160 for a refurbed cover. If you can live without your car for a day or two, then you can easily do it yourself (with the right tools and paint), i did mine in a day, and yea make sure you replace the gasket.

No! Not worth it. Buy an old cover for 50 quid (at a guess), refurb it (or polish it, a la eSeM) yourself, replace your cover with it, then sell your cover for 50 quid (at a guess).

No need to be without the car for a couple of days. An hour at most, just to change the cover over. And it costs you peanuts.

Provided you have the time and the inclination to polish away. Still well worth going down the DIY route IMO

Yep, good point. Cash:laziness ratio dependant.

Good idea, i like a bit of DIY. Remember you'll need a rocker cover gasket but doubt they are expensive and some folk dont actually replace them when they take them off.

:ding:

£50 was what I bought a spare for and then sold my own one for.
