Rediculous Insurance Payout Offer

Wish you lot would take a chill pill - this is a public forum, it's embarrassing to watch.

It doesn't but the year of a car doesn't just say the value.
I'd rather have a low milage good quality 13 year old s2000 than a high miler ran down 08 that nobody ever looked after.
There's 20yr old crx's that come very close to the selling price of an early s2000s just because they are in a very good state, clearly a good state early s2000 can be worth as much as a newer one just by being in better nick.

Like I said the 2nd hand car market & insurance system in this country is screwed, because it should be.
They put that value on it when they determine how much to charge you every year so should do the same when it comes to paying out.... the fact they don't is just because it's one big bunch of corrupt bastards and the whole country just happily accepts it.

Why is the poll ridiculous? No offence Dembo but it doesn't surprise me you would be happy with £3.5k for yours the condition it's in. I saw it about 2yrs ago at an MK meet and even then it was in far poorer condition than mine ever was! You can't polish a turd but mine never was one to begin with so I don't really get why you think this?
Quick look at pistonheads, and the first car is a 90K 2000, looks pretty shiny, for £3.5K.

Yep - your final value is that of a standard car based solely on mileage and basic condition, it doesn't and will never include resprays / roofs / mods. Insuring mods only gives you the right to be legally on the road driving with them ... rarely have I ever seen an insurer pay out for the value of the car PLUS the value of ALL the modifications ... it only ever seems to mean the whole car is legally allowed to be on the road. Uninsured mods or unlisted mods that are deemed to be a potential cause of any accident will potentially void your cover which is why you must declare anything that is deemed to change the performance or value of the car significantly.
