And perhaps you should frequent other forums if you have nothing constructive to add in this one

I can beat this one hands down:

Started on the Clio on Friday afternoon. Did my work including washing, drying, claying, taping up etc, then applied a polish to the car until early hours of Sat morning. Time spent in total 9 hours.

Sat did more polishing, then some more and then some more. Cleaned interior of the car and shampooed carpets and upholstery. Cleaned all the exterior trim and wheel arches. Cleaned engine bay. Total time spent 11 hours!

Sunday applied glaze, applied wax, removed wax. Applied a second type of wax. Time spent 5 hours.

How much is that?

All this on a car which we hardly use and one I am giving to my friend since he is still a student. However it was all for a good purpose. I was experimenting removing swirls and the like and also trying my arsenal of products I had bought in time for the arrival of my new car. Beat that.

Whilst I can appreciate a shiny car, is it really worth that much effort on a Silver car (see how I refrained from calling it Grey.. oops ) They just don't seem to get anywhere as deep a shine as darker colours. Surely a quick coat of autoglym (ala Kelk & MrV) would be as good??

always worth it GSI

Rahula I knew that you would be along shortly and 25 hours is very impressive indeed and I knew my 9 hours would be a drop in the ocean. I actually thought about your Clio write up when I wrote my post.

At least your friend will have the cleanest student car ever. Something to be proud of.

Moggy Might be worth it one day and escape IT !

IDLE* Oh and for the record all of my friends think that I should also get a life

I'll probably get told off for posting this but its my honest opinion so I think I should go ahead.

I find spending that amount of time on polishing a car to be insane!!

Do you have nothing better to do with your time?

Do you not have a girlfiend, or are you married and bored? Surely there must be a reason to waste a whole weekend in this way!?!?

6 hours on a Focus is laughable but 25 hours in a weekend is utterly rediculous!!!

There must be more to life?
