Default Recommendation of where to Geometry setup....

Hi,

Looking for a recomendation of where to go to get the geometry setup in the Hemel Hempstead area.

When I am in various dealers/mechanic/tyre places and look how the equipment is just left lying around I just wonder how accurate it is going to be. Apart from the fact do these mechanics know what they are doing.

Also, if you do have a recomendation how much did it cost you.

Cheers
Andy

The only one really local is Discount Tyres.

However as they had trouble fitting flush fit valves from a technical perspective I would not be 100% happy them touching geometry on any of my cars.

On another point have you seen a new shaped NSX in Harpenden recently.

Would you recommend anyone not so close that you are happy with and how much. Its just that I am about to fit a new set of front tyres...you should have seen the ones that are about to come off.

Also never seen a new shaped NSX in Harpo recently.

I have had my geometry setup a few times by Norton Way Honda in Letchworth.

I am sure there are a few other people that have used Crown in Bushey.

They got mine spot-on, after a bit of a 'discussion'.

I assume you mean Crown in Bushy? and what was the discussion about, just in case I need to have the same discussion.

Thanks to everybodies replies so far.

I was thinking we need a gometry survey just like the dealer surveys, but I have no way of hosting it, perhaps it could go in the Tech FAQ.

Crown don't do geo on site, they use Northway Tyres in Watford - who were good when they did mine. I was very specific with the settings

Next time i will go to Allan's place WRC Tech in Silverstone

Sorry. That was a bad reply since Steve & I knew what I meant and no-one else did!

NWHL, but the technician set the included toe in at the rear for each wheel (IE he doubled it!).

Sinced it was the end of the day he wanted to go home (the "it'll be alright - for me!" clause) but I was rather insistent that it was corrected then.

Had it done there several times and it was the first time I had an issue.

Second re-align within a few hours got it spot-on though!
