Further web searches seem to suggest it is a friction reducer, I guess this makes sense to reduce wear in a tight new engine.

Well mine has just done over 6000 miles, may as well get it booked in for this.

I just let them use their part synthetic oil, because it will be gone in a few months for the 9,000 mile service and it was free

I can decide then about taking along my own Mobil 1 or not.

Shaun,

I'd recommend Mobil 1. Changed to that on my 9,000 mile service and the car felt much better.

Where are you thinking of getting the update done? Aylesbury Honda have ordered the parts for me and it's probably going in at the beginning of next week.

Hmmmm. Dilemma.....

My 9,000 mile service is being done at the same time as the product update work. Honda are therefore going to pick up the tab for the replacement oil.

Ordinarily, I'd have provided the Mobil One for them to use, but I've now got to decide whether or not I want to shell out for it rather than let them use the Shell Helix Ultra (I think) that they use themselves.

I can't imagine Mobil One is THAT much better as to warrrant me shelling out for it in preference to a freebie. Is it.....?

ijbarratt, yes will be Aylesbury Honda, am going tomorrow as have a weird clicking noise coming from the rear drivers side wheel as well, think it might be the brakes but not sure.
What Mobil 1 oil should I get and how much of it?

Thanks

Sean

That's interesting, I had a clicking from the drivers rear wheel too, only noticed it when the window was open/roof down and along side another car or barrier. It sounded like a stone in the tyre but there wasn't any. Now, it seems to have gone away since changing the rear tyres - or maybe I have just not noticed it as the roof has not been down so often since.

Did the garage give any indication that they had heard of this before?

Anyone else experience this clicking?

- Frisky.

I had an irregular clicking coming from the driverside rear, only happened when on the power though, took it to Honda and it turned out to be a broken driveshaft bearing! all sorted under warranty though

Mine does it mainly when pulling away or braking at low speeds, haven't contacted them about it yet, thought I would just go and see them in person tomorrow as I have the day off.
