Recall Work Implications
Hi
I recently purchased a year 2000 S2000. It has covered 47k miles. I bought the vehicle from a main Renault agent and the car has full Honda service history. I bought the vehicle expecting all of the recall work to have been complete (looking back i should have checked this). Looking through the site yesterday i noticed a link to check whether the recall work has been completed. I entered my VIN number to find that the oil bolt replacement and the spark plug replacement work has not been completed. I called my local Honda dealer immediately to arrange for this work to be carried out but is not likely to be done until after xmas (a week or two's time).
Firstly, what are the implications of driving the vehicle without the oil bolt/spark plug replacement work completed, as I am going to need to use the vehicle over the next week or so? As I stated at the beginning the car has covered 47k, all of which has been without the mods.
Secondly, when was the recall introduced and is the prolonged response to the recall work likely to have been detrimental to my engine in way?
Thirdly, I cannot understand why the previous owners have not had the work undertaken
Many thanks in advance for any feedback that anyone can throw my way.

Maybe previous owners didn't know about the recalls - like you didn't until you found the link. When I bought my new car I wasn't told how to find out about recalls, and the original dealer I bought the car from didn't know when I moved house so wouldn't know how to tell me there's a recall.... I'm also not convinced many dealers will voluntarily remember to do the recall work at the next service etc.
