Default Rear Tyres - S02 replacements?

Hi Everyone

I only got my new S2000 yesterday but already I want to change the rear tyres. Fronts are S02s but rears are 225/50/16W Mitchelin Premacys - Horrible!

Car feels a bit unstable at speed round bends etc so want to change to something decent.

Any suggestions? RE050s? If so, what size? I know the FAQ says 245 but the bridgestone website says 225s - what's what then!?

Also - any other tyre worth considering / better - and would suit my S02s on the front too?

Any suggestion as to where I can get these online/delivered/local cheap and quick would be good too as my wheels will be going in for a refurb next week so need to be speedy at getting these new tyres... Leicestershire BTW.

Cheers

Will.

From the FAQ. I think that's fairly self explanatory TBH

Tyres

MY99 - MY03

Standard fit tyres on the S2000 were Bridgestone ES02JZ. Bridgestone developed these tyres specifically for the S2000 and Honda recommended that only these tyres be used on the car.

However, Bridgestone have recently discountinued the ES02JZ and have replaced them as follows

[QUOTE]Hello Neil,

The S02 was the original equipment specification that has now been phased out.

BTW I think this needs updating, as most people are running other brands in 225s now.
Exactly - that's why I was confused!!

225/50/16s 050's it is then.

Cheers !

I have just fitted 2 toyo proxy T1-R's to the rear of my S2000 the s02's down to 3mm were terrible!!! I went for 245 45 16 inflated to 34psi as others have said and they are brilliant and not properly scrubbed yet as I have only covered 100 miles or so on them......much safer now and i now have much more confidence in the car.....I paid
