Default Rear tow hook cover doesn't fit

Does anybody know if the shape of the tow hook cover changed at all between models? I ordered a replacement cover for my MYO3, but the one Honda got me doesn't fit. The metal bit of the towing hook protudes ever so slightly too much, and the cap won't stay on.

Anybody had the same problem? I'm thinking I have the wrong part, but I have an MCB, and these weren't produced in the later models ...

Cheers cb

Is the metal part you are talking about the extension piece that the tow hook screws into? If so, then you can remove it using the wheel nut wrench. If you have had your car towed, you may find that they extension piece has stretched or bent slightly.

Could it be that your bumper has been pushed in?

Isn't the extension piece supposed to be in the boot?

On my car, the rear extension piece was fitted when i got the car, and there was only one extension piece in the boot, intended for use at the front.

Despite that, you can remove the rear one too if the cover won't stay on.
