Rear Speaker Wiring MY05
Folks,
I'm looking to install some s-pod type rear speakers, but have a question regarding the wiring.
I will be using the MY05 stock head unit, which from research it appears to already have a connector to run the optional Honda rear speakers from.
Does anybody know which wires are which, and also if there is a connector I can purchase to save me having to splice the wires as apparently the wire is only about 1.5" long and frankly I dont have the skills to do this!
Thanks
Matt

There is a chance the plug is tied back in the loom?
Manufacturers often use one loom to suit all and tie back anything not required.
What im saying is, if the head unit has the provision then so should the loom and the only thing missing will be the speakers

Lloyd,
Thanks for that - Think that was what I was trying to say.
My understanding is that there was no rear wiring within the car until MY06 with the standard roll over hoop speakers, but there was a loom for the accessory headrest speakers to be plugged into.
If there is a loom for the rear speaker connections, is there a way of telling which wire I need to connect to which for the rear channels?

You're a star, thanks.
The US forum has said it can be accessed through the side of the centre console rather than taking the radio out - I presume this just inscrews?
Would have been a lot easier if the US member had take photos of the install; am guessing the loom should be the only one with just 4 wires coming from it (2 wires + & - for each of the speakers).
Also, if a US forum states it is by the drivers side knee, does this change to the passenger knee with a RHD car, or do most things stay put?
Only ask as I saw the bonnet release move across in a US picture - and I know from expereince that the French can't bother to do that on their RHD cars!

Thanks Mike, found the colours of the wires - just need to track down that pdf now......if only work would not keep getting in the way!

Quote:
Left Headrest Speaker:
- = Gry/Red
+ = Blu/Yel
Right Headrest Speaker:
- = Brn/Wht
+ = Red/Yel
These are all in a female connector, which a male connector in Honda's headrest speaker kit matches to.
End Quote.
Thanks

Thanks Shopman - appreciate your help.
Just found this regardin wiring also.....
red/yellow = passenger rear (+)
brown/white = passenger rear (-)
blue/yellow = driver rear (+)
gray/red = driver rear (-)
Now back to the searching to find which of the 2 posters was in a LHD vs RHD car
Speakers not even arrived & already tempted to pop to Sextons to get it sorted!!
