Default Rear puncture with some surprise

Hey guys,

Funnily I've always feared a rear puncture as I knew the difficult procedure of getting it sorted - front to the rear, spare to the front. So after I've collected a lovely piece of metal in Wales (lucky it was after a day of amazing drive), I was pretty proud of myself of getting the double wheel change done nice and smooth. But to my biggest surprise the punctured rear wheel wouldn't fit to the trunk, whatever way I was trying. So, as driving alone in the car, the wheel was travelling on the passenger seat.

So the question is simple, is there any magic way Honda was thinking about to get the wheel home, or next time I might just leave the missus at the petrol station?

Hope there is a solution and I'm just making a fool of myself

BTW the tyre was non repairable, being damaged too close to the edge...

I´ve fitted a 225/40 R18 on the back, but never tried a 245.

I´ve got the bottom part where the jack is removed though. It fits where the spare wheel is... :-)

My one is a 245/45 16R, could this be the reason?

It should fit in the boot once you have removed the foam in which the tools are located!

You should also have two straps which you can tie around the wheel to help keep it upright

Or get shot of the foam completely (wrap tools and put in spare wheel) for even more boot space
I once drove all the way back from South of France with a rear tyre in the boot as described after getting a puncture in Andorra and having to change both rears
