There is a toe control link (like a track rod) on the rear suspension.

As the car rolls, and dependent upon whether it in under power or a trailing throttle, compliance in the suspension bushes combined with the conflicting arc of said arm alters the toe angle of the wheel.

If one takes a large roundabout at a steady speed and varies the degree of throttle opening, one can feel this effect and adjust the line without using the steering. The later cars have this tendency dialled out a bit, sadly.

It is what makes both FWD Civics and RWD Tochigi cars so satisfying to drive, as it helps counter understeer.

It was first used by FIAT on the 130 and later the X1/9.

Why would so many people get this fan coming on exactly as they take a hard corner

Surely as it is electric the worst it will do is drain a small amount of power with no effect on the cornering

No - I've decided U are winding me up

im not winding!

What happens is jest as you go into the corner somtimes the fan comes on and this sucks air from the front of the car and thats what makes the car feel out of line.

If is true, perhaps we should hardwire a Dyson to the front spoiler?
