Default Rear Callipers

Evening Guys.

Did a full brake refresh a few months back as my front calipers were sticking a little.

Only thing not changed was the rear callipers as my mechanic told me they were fine.

Enormous surprise as a fee months later, my nearside rear is sticking a little on a long journey home.

So time to refresh and hope it hasnt warped my expensive discs.

Looking to buy a pair of rear calipers.
Where is the best place to go? I got my fronts off eBay but the seller doesn't sell the rears.

Anyone got any advice on where to go?

Also, I haven't checked yet but worst case scenario, what to do if the disc is warped?

Check the slider pins Firstly, They may just need cleaning up and re-greasing before you shell out on a new caliper.

If you find the caliper is sticking, pop into a local motor factors with these part numbers, they're bound to deal with at least one of these

Here are the part numbers for various remanufacturers:
Rears
AMK:-
RR LEFT TCA3069
RR RIGHT TCA3070

SHAFTEC:-
RR LEFT BC8896
RR RIGHT BC8896R

BRAKE ENGINEERING:-
RR LEFT CA2214
RR RIGHT CA2214R

All come with a 2 year warranty of 30000 miles, which ever comes first.

Tom was kind enough to have provided the advice above for the Forum Favourites Sticky: https://www.s2ki.com/...st__p__23172406 which you may find useful for other bits and pieces in future.

Assumed that may be the case. Possibility if an expensive pair of Dixcels being junk doesn't fill me with enthusiasm.

Sorry, hadn't spotted the warped question

FWIW, I had some seized rear callipers with a set of Dixcels and the discs were fine.

You could get them skimmed in the unlikely event they are warped (within limits of course). Shouldn't cost much.

Without jumping to conclusions, I'd get the calipers replaced and make sure the pads haven't been cooked. If they're crazed or starting to crumble then they're junk but if they look alright I'd put it all together and see how the pedal/car feels and behaves under braking. If there's no judder then you're obviously good to go.. Depending on the amount of heat that got into the pads, I'd look to replace them as a precaution. The rears aren't all that great at dissipating heat in my experience
