I think you need a special tool to push the rear pistons back. Some sort of reverse action vice.

You need a pad spreader - any auto factors including Hellfords I suspect will sell you one.

I did the front ones without a problem. I used a G-Clamp to push the pistons in ........ following the instruction on cthree's "how to" thread.

the rears screw back in. you can get a special tool for it or you might be able to find a bodge way of applying rotating force to the piston. on my mr2 you used to be able to do it with a set of long nose pliers with the nose of the pliers pushed into the cutouts.

Don't try to force the rear caliper pistons back

(They should turn in quite easily - if you don't have a special tool try using an allen key of about the same width as the slot in piston - it shouldn't take much force to turn them. Also, check your brake fluid level before you start - make sure the level is some way below the "max line". EG; if the level has ever been "topped up" [you should never need to do this unless you have to make repairs to the hydraulics] you may need to loosen the cap and put some rag around the top of the resevoir to catch any overspill. Never get brake fluid on paintwork - unless its silicon fluid - it kills paint [water is the antidote!])

With the Fiats, the unmilled side of a bastard file used to fit..........

Nick, the Nissan 200SX rears were the same.

You have to turn them in. Shouldn't be too difficult. I too used a slim file on the Nissan. A strong metal ruler should suffice.
