Rear Brake Caliper need new rubber boot!
Hi all,
I was in the middle of changing my rear brake pads today, but have hit a problem which is that one of the little rubber boots has perished almost completely. I have removed the rear caliper and with a little effort managed to remove the caliper pin and clean it up. Does anyone know if the rubber boots will have to come from Honda and perhaps more importantly if they will insist on replacing the whole caliper - or whether they can supply just the rubber boot. I have tried a couple of local car stores but they have all said they don't stock these items.
Clearly I don't want to have to replace an expensive caliper when all I need is a little rubber boot!
On a related topic, assuming I do manage to get a rubber boot, can anyone suggest what I should use inside the caliper - I have heard in the US forums people mentioning specific caliper grease, but somehow suspect this won't be easy to find over here.
thanks a lot
Mark
