The 04 tyres appear to have a much lower profile and this would definitely account for it .

For clarification on my description because I am not doing it too well with my posts; the judder is very strong. I am not talking about scuttle shake but the car crashes and it feels as though the suspension has not absorbed any of the impact at all. Does that help at all? I guess you would have to drive it to realise what I mean but maybe someone else with a 04 will be able to compare too.

rahula, have you DEF checked for the suspension shipping brackets, ie the plastic spacers? It sounds like they may still be in there.

There is no reason to assume that the RE050's won't be as good in the dry as the S02's.

Just caught in major downpour on M27 near Chichester, RE050s acquitted themselves even in standing water, managed to keep 70mph without concern .

70 mph in 5th, 6th Gear for about 40 miles, in my view big improvement over S02's, which felt skittish in very wet conditions, and especially when running through standing water. Overtook huge lorry with massive spray coming across, car felt completely stable

Any other comments re RE050's would be interesting.

I have only just reached 400 miles, so unable to fully assess new tyres.

Initial views are low profile gives slightly harder ride but improved road feel, definitely gives you more confidence on fast cornering
I'm not too sure why you have attributed these differences to the tyres and not to the suspension and geometry changes.

You're probably right here Ade, the RE050s are still Bridgestones so they will probably still be shite.

Just for your information the Dictionary defines carper as ,someone who frequently finds fault or makes harsh and unfair judgments
never ceases to amaze me how sensitive people can be
