I think that all engines are tested to their maximum before being put on the the road anyway. The only reason for the running in (I suppose) is that there is a lot of variation in engine usage on the road compared to in a "lab" i.e. up / down gears etc...and it probably has stood still for a month or two.

Thanks for your replies guys, i'm sure the car will be fine...bit worrying to think that some dealers out there "strip" cars and then resell 'em..and then tell their poor punters!!! What kind of carry on is that?!
Still it's going to be fun checking out that Vtec kick on a crisp Sunday morning...
BTw what's this JR filter all about?

Fantastic man!!! I have to say that it took me ages to find a dealer who had one in to test, I phoned just on the off chance and my local dealer had received one that very day (Thursday) with 3 people booked in on Saturday to view!
Just one drive and I put my money down there and then....

Looks like we're newbie's togther!
Through all the months of searching, I found it can be affected the location of the garage - the garage i found it at was fairly.......how can i say......rural..! So i think competition pushes prices up quite a bit.
Also, the large honda garages aren't bothered about holding onto the cars for a while and won't bring their prices down, whereas the smaller dealerships need to get their cashflow sorted and market the car(s) at a more reasonable price.
I'll be getting through a fair bit of fuel over the weekend!
Hope you enjoy your car!
