Yes, that is most certainly a good price (better than any I found after quite an exhaustive search).

At the same time I was spending a lot of time reading posts on these forums, and becoming increasingly paranoid about 'someone else' having driven the car. It became very important to me that I drove the car from day 1 (well, mile 37, but I can live with that) and was in sole control of the break in period / ensuring the cars thirst for oil was sated. So as well as tight a tight budget, this, for me, became extremly important

That is a very good point Ian. If I had followed the advice of the dealer I collected the car from I'm pretty sure my engine would now be quite sick. No mention was made of a run in period and he explicitely stated that the car would not "leak or burn a drop of oil between services". Good job I found S2KI...

Pete has got a superb motor though (and very quick from what I remember ) so there are used bargains to be had.

This is very, very scary advice as it is no more than 99.9% of people would expect of a modern car.

Presumably the service dept. is very busy at this garage!!!

I find it hard to believe that all the the S2000 customers this guy sold cars too would have been aware of our cars thirst - this must have ended in tears somewhere along the line!

Peter - I wasnt having a go, honest! I am sure there are some great cars out there if you look long and hard enough (and are lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time). I looked long, and hard, and wasnt!!! And then the paranoia took over!
