I have lived with it for a while and may just sell the car if I can not get ride of it. This is my second S, first with the HT. Can't take the rattles anymore. Mine is way worse than any I have heard though. I'll try today to rub some stuff on it, and adjust.

I dont think you can tighten them?
I have wrapped a few tuns of self-amalgamating rubber around the hooks and this works really well.
You can also slip some tube over the hooks to pad them out - same result.
Who the hell told the other guys to use Vaseline? Bad move!
It's petrolium based and can eat into some types of rubber, lets hope they survive!
Use silicon grease ONLY, thats what Shin Etsu is.
You can use grease from a scuba store - same thing.
The rear catches squeeking? You can try lubing the whole hardtop seal with silicon grease too.
Or, do it properly and adjust the rear catchers.
To do this you need to remove the hartop inside qtr panel covers to get access to the brackets.
The brackets can be moved up/down to change the height of the locking pins (pulls roof down tighter).
HTH.

the only thing left is to adjust the hardtop according to the manual, adjusting the screws above the side catchers.
I sorted my strikers with the tubing and smeared shinetsu all over the place to stop the rattles.
I'm still getting one really loud rattle at the back of the windscreen
Its really annoying and TBH - i've just been living with it
Any ideas on how i can get this sorted once and for all?

It's even detailed in tthe manual the correct way to do it and the measurements you should get between the hard top and the rear quarter panels if its adjusted correctly.

Yes, as we both said. The long pins on the hardtop are on adjustable brackets.

Holy Cow. I got some rubber tube from Autozone and slipped it on the hooks of the front latcfhes and it helped so much! Im excited lol I only went around the block and I hope on the X way it still does well. It's like 30 deg here so I'm going to wait for a warmer day to try the other things!
