Default Random Alarm sounding.

tonight I unlocked the car at Asda and filled the boot, ok, then opened the door to get in and the alarm started sounding. Tried locking and unlocking several times to no avail, so started car to drive home. After a mile or so the alarm stopped and silent till I reached my drive, pulled up and opened the door to get out and off goes the siren again. Any ideas people?
By chance it's off to honda tomorrow to have a gearbox niggle checked so hopefully they'll find something(alarm and g/box) I just hope it doesn't go off again at 7.00am when the service manager collects it.
BTW that siren is LOUD in your ears when your sitting in the car.

The alarm on the 005/06's seems to do some funny things sometimes. I find that if i pop the boot without unlocking the car, then close the boot and unlock the car at the same time or very close together, the alarm goes off and won't reset. The car will start and drive, but locking and unlocking the car won't reset the alarm. I i leave it for a 30 seconds or so without pressing any of the buttons on the remote it will reset itself and then arms and disarms perfectly. The more i lock and unlock the car with the remote the more confused the alarm seems to get.

As long as i'm careful to not close the boot at the same time as i unlock the car it works fine.

Could you have done the same?

Yep I've had the same thing happened, only when you close the boot and then unset the alarm, it's as if something gets out of sync.
If you shut the boot wait two seconds and then unset the alarm it's fine.

If it happens again into the dealers it will go!

Aha, thanks lower and muttly, that may well be the cause, I'll wait till the dealer phones re the gearbox and ask for an update about the alarm,if he's found nothing this probably be the cause.
