Surely you were driving to quickly even if you were at low RPM. Learning from mistakes is an important thing when it has an affect on your health and others.....
oh get me... anyhow glad your ok now though.
Just does me in when people cant find a fault

I was pulling away and I wasn't doing more than 20mph as I was aware it was very wet and I'd had a pervious incident on that roundabout a few months prior (again in the wet, which was me being stupid). Which thinking about means I will more than likely have been in 2nd and not 3rd like I said above
I did find what was at fault. The shit road conditions where to blame, and the woeful drainage on that roundabout.

Must be the road signs fault for letting you do 30mph!
If your implying that I was going too fast I hardly think that up to 20 mph is too fast especially on that roundabout even in those conditions. Speed was not a factor in my case, the shit road surface was. You know that sometimes road accidents are caused by poor road surfaces and NOT bad driving.

im implying that if you go round it once and come off, reduce your speed. If you have reduced your speed and still come off you havnt slowed down enough.
I admit poor road surface is a nightmare and catches people out but next time i came to the same piece ofd road id slow down. That is same as driving in the wet or with cold tyre. Even more the next after that if i came off again.
You have proved surely if the car cannot grip, 20mph IS to fast for that section of road with its type of surface, in the particular conditions you experienced. I cant see it any other way!!

Now that I know both sides of this roundabout (and in fact the whole damned thing is breaking up and nice and smooth) I treat it with kid gloves in the wet regardless of which direction I'm going

I think I have it now--your car was the irrepresible force moving in a straight line, unable to deviate & the roundabout in the wet was the immovable object. Therefore that makes your passenger a Mr V. Tec & you must be passive rear wheel steer.

Sarcasm doesn't work when written.
"My passenger reckons we did a 360 degree spin but I'm not convinced."..a red herring me thinks.

Well that far king learned me the hard way.
Guess I'll just go and kill myself.

Of course. Stepping out of the shower and finding yourself in the kitchen happens all the time.
