Default Radio Door Experiment.

**Before i start sorry to AJ if you did still want my radio door, But i saw lots of people offering you theres, but you suddenly inspired me to try something.**

I have a aftermarket headunit which has not fit properly, stuck out too far and could not put the radio door up. Plus did not look the best:

Inspired by AJ saying he was going to cut into his radio door, i thought i would try sawing into mine to soothen out the look, As if it was more built in (in a way).

Got a saw and just tryed to see what would happen.

Tested

This is the final outcome. Needs a tiny bit more sanding but overall came out better than i exspected.

What does everyone else think?

Kind of defeats the object of having a door, so thieves can't see it, but seeing as yours doesn't fit, why not?

You've done a good job though mate, looks smart

Oh, and when you change your HU, I've got a spare radio door

Well yes i could not use it before, but the face detaches. So tend to do that if in rough area.

And Cheers

Looks alright!

If I was doing it I would of kept the cut out and reattached it giving a contour for the HU fascia to sit behind, fill it, sand it.. repaint it

Looks good Sam good job.

I never had the headunit fascia on when out of the car, you know you can take the radio fascia off dont you?

I just finished my radio door before, but i need some card etc to finish the plate/cover off better as i used immation leather, for the time being the crappy plate will do.

I got sidetracked with other jobs on the car too.

P.s Sam i have a fascia John Bucks sent me one.
