Radio beeping at me?!!!

Radio beeping at me?!!!
I searched and can't find out the answer so though I'd ask (rather than read the manual again)....
This morning my radio started beeping at me (interupting the music)..... 3 or 4 beeps then it stops...... wait a few minutes and it does it again.
The third time it happened I noticed TP flashing in the display...... I guess its a traffic warning? but have no idea how to listen to it or cancel the beeping.
Any ideas?
