radiator fan on when starting the engine?
When starting the engine from cold i have noticed that the radiator fan comes on about 5 seconds after starting the engine, i dont have any eml's and it runs fine. It will do the same after leaving it for an hour or so, so the engine will still be warm ish.
The only thing i can think of is the egine coolant temperature sensor or the radiator fan switch??
Any thoughts? ps i did do a search but couldn't find anything.
cheers baz.

I'm new here and not totally familiar with the F20C yet (so tell me if I'm teaching you to suck eggs !) but it sounds like secondary air injection - do S2000s have this ?

Lol - blind leading the blind eh ? Basically there's an air pump that sounds like a fan, it blows air into the catalytic converter to get it up to working temp quicker. I'm pretty sure the S has this system as it's meant to save dolphins and polar bears.

Pop the bonnet and look at the rad fan. it is noisy i think, the difference 'tween that and air pump is marked

I suffered from this when I bought the car. It turned out to be a faulty temp switch on the radiator, and the car had 'failed safe', and kept the fan running.
Visually check the fan to see if it's turning, and if so it's likely the rad temp switch has died. They are only a few pounds, and I actually swapped mine in situ with only a tiny amount of coolant lost. (You have to be quick though!)
The switch is located at the bottom N/S of the radiator.
