Not really .... the airguide allows some cool air to flow into the top of the engine bay, which I imagine gets rather hot.
The rad plate doesn't.

Hmm You have me thinking now, the rad plates do keep the air in the Rad to keep it cooler and in the case of the GDefend panel will send air to the airbox. But the oem guide sends the air over the top into the engine bay
Hmmmmm
Im looking at either the Spoon Snorkle or the Garage Defend idea , rad plate and Air box idea ...
not sure about this now

...instead focusing the air on the radiator? Seems like swings and roundabouts to me.
it's even worse if you have a vented bonnet because the air would prefer to just go straight over the top of the radiator and out of the first vent without even touching a hot surface..
in my opinion you would want to stuff as much air into the radiator since this is much more effective for cooling the engine.. the waste air from the radiator would then exit up past the engine..(cooling it) and out through the bonnet vents if you have them..
honda have basically done this with the air guide..

I would have thought Honda would have made bigger holes if the air was better passed over the engine than forced against the radiator. I also note that the hole are larger on the righthand side, rather than near the airbox.
