i borrowed one to look at, the metal addons are easy to add, but the rails are very hard to make, all the aftermarket suppliers use the same 'core' rail

You need to be very careful messing with seat rails, they are highly important in an accident.
I will be going for some proper buckets when I get round to changing the seats

Or are you simply saying that you need to ensure you install them correctly using the correct torque settins etc?

Then the underside of your seat would be below the floorpan and hitting speed bumps
that could be a problem!
whats the lowest it will go? will you even notice one inch?

So will installing BYS rails make the car a more dangerous place to be, or effect the SRS system?

OEM seat rails will have been designed and tested to comply with the regulations and standards that must be met to withstand an impact situation, i'd be suprised if BYS have gone to these lengths when designing and testing theirs, I could always be wrong though, just seems risky to me.
DTMUK - ask your other half.

I could honestly not say, the only people who can tell you that is BYS.

Would be interested in a group buy for the lower seat brackets. Apparently another option still is to remove the seat, drill a few more holes and voila, you have a lower seat. Even more effective when you remove some of the seat foam (which messes up the leather though). Seems a bit of a fiddle to me... have a look:
