RAC Windscreens
The RAColes have sorely pissed us off this time.
Last time was just making an utter abortion of installing the screen in the S2000.
The Autoglass guy was surprised it wasn't leaking.
Monday, The Civic's rear screen broke. The insurance company (Bell Direct) gave RAC as their (otherwise we sulk) supplier.
The first call, we insisted they check the model. Their "Customer Solutions" (coke anyone?) department said they'd sort it & local branch would call. They never did.
So we went all through it again.
Thursday they turn up with the wrong glass. The fitters try to explain to the call centre numpty which model Civic it is; it is becoming apparent that their d-base has lost the entire EK generation Civic! The fitters are also fed up of this shit.
I speak to some sanctimonious, uppity, stupid slit in customer complaints, who insists it's because the car is an EU import. She promises to call me back, as usual...
If anyone lives near Chesterfield & fancies bricking every window in their offices, PM me.
National Windscreens acted like they do it for a living, or something. Highly recommended.

I agree they are totally useless, and would not use them again. They made a total mess up of replacing the passenger window in our Astra Convertible, didn't remove the brokoen glass out of the door and made a poor job of putting the door trim back on. To top that off they fitted an after market window which did not fit correctly, they then had to come out again to fit a GM branded window.

everything is geared to taking money from you
very little, if anything, to sort out problems
have you noticed that, when you buy insurance?
five minutes to buy
then try the claims experience..........
and look at the DVLA
what part works without fault, 24/7?
well, what a suprise, the bit where you pay for your car tax online
feckers
I try not to buy anything online now
the savings are wiped out the moment you have a problem

I used National Windscreens on the Stream a few years ago and they were numpties too - fitting scratches, loose rubbers, missing clips, loose frame. They spent longer trying to get the old one out then putting the new one in - "Never done one of these before guvnor...."
We need to find a good local one Nick.

It's part of theis call-centre cu(l)(n)ture that really gets me.
It's very frustrating, because you can't get hold of your adversary & shake them down.
And you can't use your own, competent guy, because the insurance company loses its backhander.
It's like the worst side of nationalisation, once again; they're the only show in town & as soon as you complain, it's "we've 'ad yer money; now f uck off!"
Hence my desire for direct action.
