Might sound a stupid question but never owned a soft top before, can I wash the soft top with the same stuff I wash the body with?

Going to be using Meguiars car wash and conditioner, I might even give it a polish as well but then again I'm more a wash and go type of guy, I don't want to rub my colour too much as it might fade and end up silver

I always wash my soft top with my usual car shampoo, it's not a problem.
You may wish to invest in some vinyl treatment (e.g. 303 protectant - see tech FAQ for info, or search for "303") this will provide some UV protection for the soft top.

Just wash it normally mostly.

You should preferably use a cleaner followed by protectant twice a year, spring & autumn is best.

You may need to polish/wax the paintwork afterwards, as any overspill makes it a bit smeary.

I suggest you use a brillo pad with a washing up liquid/sand mixture to get rid of the blue overspray - this'll bring your car up a treat and really show off that silver shine.

I on the other hand just wash with Autoglym shampoo every two weeks or so and every 6-8 weeks, plaster another coat of Autoglym polish on - does the trick for me.

when I bought my 02 my hood looked quite faded so bought some autoglym vinyl cleaner which has brought it back to black (go easy on the application though as its easy to put to much on and it can go a bit shiny).

Looks so much better now though
