Question Re: Irish Plates
Need some advise.
Have seen a Accord estate for sale, at side of the road with sale sign on it.
Looks in good nick and price is ok, only problem it has Irish number plates on it.
My question is if i buy this car can i drive it on these plates or do i need to get them changed over, if so is this a easy job and how expensive could it be.

I don't know how the formalities of registration and the like are dealt with (I'd assume you have to register the change with the Irish equivalent of the DVLA) but I'm pretty sure that you can drive anywhere in the EU in a car registered in any other EU state without difficulties.
No idea how you would go about re-registering it in the UK and getting a UK number - but the DVLA website is surprisingly helpful about these kind of things in my experience so it's worth having a look in the FAQ section.

I got my Northern Irish plate (GAZ xxxx) for my 21st birthday, and quite liked it as because they're a diffrent format, they stand out from the crowd.
Unfortunately, that means when you drive like a twat people remember them easier when they tell the po-lice.
I'm about to punt it if anyone's interested...
